We were all shocked and saddened to hear that George Zographou (Zoggy) tragically passed away after suffering from Meningitis. Zoggy played prop for our age group from a young age and we all have fond memories of him playing rugby and socialising with all his team mates - always with a big smile on his face. George was always fully supported by his loving family who threw themselves into the rugby culture and tours which surrounded our lives at that time. Our thoughts go out ...to them all.
I know many of the players are going to the funeral and wake, showing that the rugby bond may have become more distant, but never broken. George’s family have said everyone is welcome at the funeral service and wake.
The funeral service will be held on Friday 1st September at St Mary Redcliffe Church at 1.30pm and after at the City Ground (Ashton Gate). Please could players wear No 1s for the funeral.
